'Water crisis likely to end by March'
ITANAGAR, Feb 22: The nagging problem of water scarcity being faced by the citizens of the state capital is likely to end soon, precisely by March this year.

The department had to build a road from Poma village up to the source point (Mahi River) cutting through rough terrains and building three bridges to lay 450 mm DI pipes as well as movement of vehicles to transport men, machines and materials. The approach road up to a point called Langkey was progressing well and scheduled to be completed by December 2011. But due to a tremor on November 22, 2011 a huge landslide completely damaged the formation cutting forcing the department to build a bailey bridge over Langkey Nallah and burdening it with a cost escalation of nearly Rs 3.5 crores.

ITANAGAR, Feb 22: Scores of young emerging entrepreneurs of the Capital Complex participated in a state level ‘vendor development programme’ organized by the state branch of the GoI’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Institute in association with the National Youth Project (NYP) at the Science Centre here today.
Attending the programme as the chief guest, Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries president Lala Techi called for proper implementation of departmental projects and government schemes for entrepreneurs.
“Women are the backbone of the society, and women in Arunachal are lucky as they have some social liberties in comparison to women in other parts of the country. Hence young women should try their hands in the field of entrepreneurship which would help them to be financially independent and achieve something,” he said.
Exhorting entrepreneurs to come up with innovative ideas to increase the popularity of their products, Lala said, “Modification of products is very necessary with the changing times.”

He informed that NIC, West Kameng has added many additional features, viz. Form 16 generation, which not only enables the DDOs to generate Form 16, but also makes easier to calculate the tax of income tax payers in the district.
The application software will enable the pay bill to be created within few hours, he informed.

ITANAGAR, Feb 22: After inaugurating the food stall counter at Nyikum Niya Complex, Nirjuli as part of the Nyokum Yullo festival, senior journalist Pradeep Kumar exhorted the local entrepreneurs to set up permanent stalls to serve delicious local cuisines to the visitors.
Naga foods are available but not Arunachalees, he quoted many visitors from outsiders expressing their surprise.
Such food stalls will be a great source for employment generation and steady income to the owners, he said with conviction.

ITANAGAR, Feb 22: Arun Dristi Eye Care and Research Centre, 0 Point Tinali, Itanagar successfully conducted first ever Botox Injection session in the state.
Dr. Vipul Shandaliya, MD, New Delhi, Master trainer of Botox injection in India successfully administered Botox to nine patients who were suffering from Chronic migraine, disturbing lid twitching and hemifacial spasm on Tuesday last. The cases were selected after screening over 110 patients.

ITANAGAR, Feb 22: The 27th Statehood Day of Arunachal Pradesh was celebrated in New Delhi in a befitting manner organized by Arunachal Students’ Union Delhi (ASUD).

ITANAGAR Feb 22: Education Minister Bosiram Siram today inaugurated the newly constructed annexe building of State Library Itanagar in the sideline of an awareness programme organized by State Central Library.

BORDUMSA, Feb 22: A devastating fire broke out at Bijoypur III village completely gutted down an OBT house, kitchen and granary at the wee hours of February 20. The house belongs to one Suparna Chakma, an Anganwadi worker. However, there was no report of casualty.
Despite the best efforts of some 200 odd villagers the fire could not be doused and no house hold items including cash recovered.
ADC Bordumsa, Kento Riba along with Police personnel from Bordumsa rushed to the spot in order to take stock of the situation. The ADC handed over Rs 2000 in cash and few relief materials as immediate relief to the fire victim. An enquiry committee is being constituted to ascertain the cause of the fire and assess the fire damages.
Maha Suryanamaskar prog at Roing

ZIRO, Feb 22: The District Task Force Committee meeting for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) held a meeting for second round of pulse polio immunization campaign today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Lower Subansiri district.
In the meeting, performance of the first round of IPPI held on January 20 was reviewed. The Committee targets to immunize 6269 children in the district in the second phase of the IPPI on February 24.

Appreciates for saving life
Dear Editor,
Through your esteem daily, it is to inform to general public that on the night of 16th February at around 11 PM one speeding vehicle knock down Kenge Ado, an Assistant Sub Inspector (APP) who was coming back to his residence after curtsy visit to a friend who got operated recently. The incident happened near Old Deputy Commissioner Office, Naharlagun and the driver sped away without caring about the ailing person. Not even that, the person who was following the vehicle which intentionally hit the police officer also did not try to help him to get medical treatment. ASI Ado somehow managed to raise his hand hoping to get help from the passing vehicle but in vain. After a while Yukar Taw, a true dedicated social worker who was passing through same road found Ado in pool of blood and immediately rushed him to General Hospital, Naharlagun without a second thought. This act of Yukar Taw is really a commendable and praiseworthy act and we don’t have any appropriate word to convey our gratitude to him.
I on behalf of Aado Welfare Society Itanagar, convey our heartfelt thanks from the bottom our heart to Yukar Taw, for his yeomen service being rendered and saving a precious life of a Police Officer in general and Ado family in particular. Before our memory fades lets us recollect the news item that appeared in this esteemed daily on 25.12.2012, which reported “Major Issue faced by the Gurkha and Yobins of Vijaynagar was solved on spot, by Nabam Tuki, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh by distributing PRC certificates to few senior citizens and has directed all others to apply for the same and collect from the office of the circle officer.

esteemed paper to find out what is going on in my state, I was deeply hurt and felt
once again betrayed by the Government, on coming to learned that the government’s

We the Yobin people have faced betrayal and nothing else from the Government of Arunachal, and every time a new government is formed we looked forward that our grievances will be addressed but nothing happens apart from empty promises, and we are back to square one with deprivation and discrimination.
The Yobins have a long historical attachment with Arunachal Pradesh since North Eastern
Frontier Agency days and as such one of the aboriginal tribe of the state which fact
is acknowledged by the other brother’s of Changlang district that is Tangsas and
the Singphos. And it is an open fact that we have been demanding for the restoration
of our schedule tribe status for the past 40 years or so therefore non-
I have no hard feelings with our Gurkha brothers I am only trying to make my point across the table is that we are the indigenous tribe of Arunachal Pradesh as such only Granting PRC to us tagging with other Non APST is not going to help us. We demand our Schedule Tribe status, if the government feels Gurkhas should be given PRC is upto them without floating the laws and rules mend for the protection of the tribal people. Let every right thinking citizen of Arunachal spare a few minutes of their valuable time and ponder upon this issue, lest 10 years from now we may wonder, What have we done?.
